Is It Time To Take the Leap?

Do you love what you do?

It might sound silly, but we truly believe that when you really love what you do, you’re a better person. You’re probably more patient with your kids, more creative with problem-solving, and even more fun to be around. That’s because when you feel invested in your work, you care more. Many of us have had bad jobs, especially growing up, where we didn’t feel appreciated or even cared too much about our goals. That’s not a fun place to be.

And though we don’t subscribe to the idea that you have to love every second and every aspect of your job, the overall feeling should be of excitement and fulfillment.

If you’ve been dreaming of doing something else with your life, are you working toward that goal?

Take Action

Some things you can do now to move toward your new venture include:

-Set up a savings plan so you can go out on your own

-Start researching and building knowledge

-Get clear on what that life will really look like. Not everything will be perfect

-Investigate investment opportunities if you can’t fund your project yourself

-Make connections with people in that industry

No matter what you want to do, whether it’s starting a trampoline park, building a laser tag center, or buying an existing rock climbing gym and improving it, we can help. Our software can help provide useful data and make processes seamless and streamlined. Give us a call today to see how we can help you reach your dreams faster.

Mother's Day is for Trampoline Parks

When it comes to Mother’s Day gifts, there are some classic, tried-and-true ideas.

You could give your mom the perfect:

-flowers

-jewelry

-homecooked meal

or, you could give her the gift of time. And, when we say “time” we really mean “free time away from the kids.”

Let’s face it. Many of us have moms or grand-moms who put in a ton of work. And, they don’t get a lot of free time to do just what they want to do. If you have a mom who lets you pick the restaurant, choose the movie, and plan the trip, you know what to do. Give her the gift of free time to do whatever she wants. Maybe she wants to go shopping by herself for a few hours. Maybe she wants to relax with a good book. Or, maybe she wants to go have fun with her kids at the trampoline park.

Well, what can you do as a trampoline park owner or manager?

You should be advertising gift cards before every major holiday. Because every parent would love some more free time. And, when the kids are out jumping, mom can be relaxing.

Check out how easy our system makes purchasing a gift card below. You’ll have no excuse come Father’s Day. ;)

From Employee To CEO: Stop Buffering

If you’re moving from being an employee to a business owner, you’re probably feeling a little overwhelmed. The transition is not easy, though there are a lot of resources out there to tap into. In fact, there are so many ideas and views about how to successfully run a business that you can end up “buffering,” planning, and researching trampoline software options for… ever. But there are some big things you know you need to do.

Instead of using skills you needed before, like showing up on time, following directions, and reporting issues to your superior, you’re in charge. You show up when you want to, you make the directions, and you’re the superior who has to sort out the issues. As the head honcho, you need to create the structures that allow your employees to make your business the best it can be.

One thing we recommend: choose your plan and stick with it as long as you can. When you listen to a lot of podcasts and read a lot of books, you can be tempted to shift your plans as you gather more information. And it’s good to keep learning. But you’ll never start your trampoline park if you’re constantly restarting from scratch.

Have you already made the upgrade from employee to CEO? What was the hardest part? Tell us below!

FAQs and Features You Need to Know About

We know you’re imagining your immediate game plan of how you’ll soon be running around shopping (or staying home and baking delicious holiday goodies), because the holiday season is HERE. Note: If you celebrate Christmas, you have ONE WEEK to get your stuff together. *Panic ensues*

So, what could be better than a little procrastination? Keep reading for some of the most frequently asked questions about our trampoline park software!

How do people sign waivers?

We know your struggles. Customers sign waivers online, but then they get frustrated when your employees can’t find them. Why have people sign ahead of time, if it takes just as long to check in? We’ve streamlined the waiver structure, helping your customers get in and get jumping faster.

How do you handle groups?

If you have a lot of repeat customers, it can get a little time-consuming to find every single person in your system. With Active8, you don’t need to search high and low for each customer. In fact, families and grouped are linked together. So, if you have the same group coming in every Saturday, for example, you can find them and check them in all together. Genius, right?

Why do your customers like you?

Well, we like to think they like us for our charm and great sense of humor, but the truth is they love our product. Our trampoline park point of sale software makes life easier, linking concessions, booking, and point of sale all together in one seamless product. We’re constantly retooling and improving our system to make your trampoline park run more smoothly. And, we’re working on bigger and better products to help you make more moolah.

Resolutions, Goals, and Plans

Though December isn’t even halfway over, it’s most wonderful time of the year. Yes, that’s right. Time to plan out your New Year’s Resolutions. *cheering, crying, etc.*

You may have terrible memories of New Year’s Resolutions (or NYR, if you’re hip), gripping the pencil as you write that you WILL learn Spanish this year, or not being allowed to leave your grandparents’ table until you come up with ten whole resolutions. We’re not here to make you relive those awful memories. But, we do know that making resolutions can help you grow and become the person you want to be. *cue the sentimental music*

Are you ready for 2019 to be YOUR YEAR? These things don’t happen by accident. You’re going to need to make personal and business goals to have the year you want. And before you go putting down that you want to drive a new Porsche by the end of the year, take a step back and think about if that really would make your life better. Maybe it would, but maybe spending more time with your family would, more. (You know, Porsche might make an SUV so you can spend time with your family on a road trip…)

We recommend taking a few days to really hash out your goals. Don’t write them down over an hour and think that you’ve got it all figured out. Really think about what you want to do, and where you want to spend your energy this upcoming year.

Here are some questions that might help you get started:

  • What would make me feel most accomplished this year?

  • What are you naturally good at?

  • How do you want to be remembered?

Not deep or overwhelming at all, right? Take your time and keep in mind that you don’t need to figure out everything right now. Finding the deeper reasons why you do what you do can help you focus on what’s important, and that may change as time goes on.

How to Take Advantage of Holiday Time Off School

Though it feels like Corporate America started the official holiday season the day after Halloween this year, the truth is, you should be thinking and planning that far ahead, too. Even farther, when it comes to behind the scenes work. When it comes to business (not just trampoline parks), it’s the people who are organized and plan ahead that often succeed. So if your business model is more of the “winging it” or “we’ll figure it out later” type, well, we have a resolution for you. And, we also have a trampoline park point of sale system that can help you streamline and understand your business better, by the way. ;)

Being able to take full advantage of the holiday season doesn’t require too much. A little forethought and time spent understanding who your customer is and what makes them happy will go a long way. Keep reading for one key thing you need to know to keep your family entertainment center thriving.

Who (or What) Is the Competition?

Identifying your competition is key to a successful campaign. Why are people choosing that option? Alternatively, what would keep them from choosing that route? Knowing where you fit in the picture gives you your “in.” And though you likely know your competition, you may not have realized that it can change with the weather. Whaaaa?

For example, if you’re located in a cold state that gets a lot of snow, your trampoline park may be competing with the great outdoors. Sledding, skiing, and ice skating all become way more popular this time of year, if only because you can only ski in the snow (unless you’re “ a creative” maybe). Going further, understand who is and who isn’t taking advantage of that weather. You may find a perfect market in families with kids too young to go skiing. Or, alternatively, your target market could end up containing all of those people who transplanted to your cold weather city for work, and never liked the snow anyway.

You might also be competing with the influx of movies that hit the theaters right around this time of year. Whether it’s the third remake of a kid’s holiday movie, or a nice refreshing action movie with an impossibly fit star in his 60’s (our personal fave), the movies that earn millions year after year sometimes leave us scratching our heads. But, alas, the heart wants what it wants. If your trampoline park’s location is near a movie theatre, consider teaming up with that theater to offer discounted tickets or spruce up your signage to lure in patrons just leaving the theater.

Let’s just say that you’re going after the shoppers this time of year. That can be tricky, if you’re looking at it from a straight-forward perspective. We’re definitely not going to suggest that parents leave their kids unsupervised at your family entertainment center so they can shop, so how can we convince them to spend a few precious hours with you? It’s easier than you think. Suggest that multiple families team up for an afternoon at your trampoline park. That way, some parents can stay and watch the kids, while others can go get some shopping done. Let’s face it, a lot of dads would rather play dodge ball on a trampoline than spend four hours shopping anyway. Not everyone thinks of things like this, so suggesting it can be a real help for guests. A sandwich board in front of your location, a social media post, or a small flyer can all help spread the word.

When in doubt, don’t be afraid to experiment. The last-minute deal might become the tool you use again and again. Once you’ve gotten your post-Thanksgiving deals under control, give us a call. Our trampoline park point of sale software can help you plan ahead for busy days and keep your employees sane. Call us today at +1 (888) 500-2618 to schedule a demo.

Books to Get You Ready for Your Entrepreneurial Goals

Are you confused why everyone is crowding the malls, shopping until they max out their credit cards? Some of us take a while to get to the place where we realize we want something more out of life. And though we all still need clothes to wear when it gets cold, we don’t all need all the stuff.

This becomes much more apparent when you’re ready to start your own business. Suddenly, you may find yourself scouring the bookstore shelves to learn how to secure funding or the best ways to manage people. We’ve read almost everything we can get our hands on, and our family entertainment center software reflects that expertise. But, maybe you’re just starting out. Looking for books to read to get you going? Keep reading for a list of classics and new kids on the block.

Self-Employed by Joel Comm and John Rampton

This book is a little bit of a test. Essentially, the book contains stories about real entrepreneurs who made it happen, and asks you to relate. If you don’t? Well, we’re not saying you don’t have the skills, but starting your own business may be easier with them. We all have to choose at some point whether we want to work for someone else or strike out on our own. This may help you decide which kind of person you really are.

Deep Work by Cal Newport

Ah, social media: the ultimate time-waster. This book teaches you how to avoid social media, email chimes, and other distractions that keep you from getting important things done. Being able to dive deep into the work is the goal here.

What If It Does Work Out? by Susie Moore

Passionate about trampoline parks? You know we are. But are you? Moore helps motivate and inspire you to take that leap of faith, and turn your passion into a business. She includes plenty of tips and strategies to get you moving.

Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss

This behemoth contains highlights and interviews that Ferriss touches on in his podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show. By digging into the minds of some of the most successful and influential, Ferriss allows us to see how other people think. Ready to pick up some new routines and tactics? Grab this brick and attack it over the next year.

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

This book explores how habits influence everything we do in life. So, whether you want to quit smoking, or just understand why you put off the things you want to do, this book could be the answer. And yes, this does include tips on how you can change and create new habits to be the person you want to be. But, no, it won’t help you run your trampoline park (though we can help with that).

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson

You know how people say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff”? Well, that’s pretty much what Manson says in his hilarious book. Embracing the things that you do well is important, but so is understanding what you’re not so good at. Nice.

You are A Badass by Jean Sincero

Looking for some motivation? Go out and get this book. Sincero aims to give you that shot in the arm you’ve been needing with lines like, “Never apologize for who you are. It lets the whole world down.” Ready for someone to give you a hug and tell you you’re amazing?

Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Looking for more? How about less? This book aims to help you trim the fat and focus on what’s important. So, no more multi-tasking and no more distractions. If it’s not the most important thing, don’t let it take up your time.

What else should be added to the list? Anything we need to read in the new year?

If you’re ready to dive in and start your business next year, we wish you all the luck. And, let’s face it, you’re going to need more than luck. So call us to learn more about the best trampoline park point of sale software in the biz today.

Halloween at the Trampoline Park

Wow, how is it October already?

It feels like yesterday that school was starting and we were having flashbacks about 8 AM college classes that we signed up for without realizing our love for sleep.

But here we are.

If you’re the type to get giddy over pumpkin spice-flavored things and take selfies with red and yellow leaves, then Halloween is probably also high on your list. But, what if you don’t love Halloween? Do you wish you could just treat it like another day?

Doesn’t that oppose all the accepted business-to-consumer marketing information out there? Maaaaybe. But that doesn’t mean you have to bow down and trick out your entire park for this holiday.

Keep reading for a few tips on how to get in the holiday spirit without going overboard.

Put on a Movie

Yes, yes, movies are great for warm summer nights in the park, but it’s too cold to go outside for long this time of year. Offering a movie night (or a mini-movie series throughout the month) is a great way to show you care, without investing in a whole slew of animatronic mummies. Put on Hocus Pocus and offer candy corn, caramel popcorn, and whatever other delicious form of corn you can think of, and have a great time.

Discounts for Count Dracula

You know what people love more than dressing up? Free things. We love getting deals, because we’re naturally all little accountants at heart. So, combine cosplay and freebies, and you might just have a winning combination on your hands. It’s easy. Pick a day for a little Halloween party, and make sure people know that dressing up will get them discounted (or, you know, free) entry to the shindig. Parents will love the photo ops of their little flying superheros, and everyone will have a great time. All you need to do is offer a little candy and the rest is taken care of.

Haunted House Hack

How do you create a haunted house without paying a fortune in decorations and employees instructed to dress up and scream at customers? Simple. Buy a large chain, a padlock, and forget about anything else. The night of Halloween, just turn off the lights and hope for a nice creepy wind to blow some leaves by. Voila! Haunted house.

How Often Do your Trampoline Park Necessities Need to Be Replaced?

If you’re new to the world of trampoline park ownership or management, it can seem a little daunting. Research shows how much you may need to budget to open a park, but there’s little information about how much you need to maintain a park after you’ve gotten it up and running. For example, how often do your trampoline park necessities like trampoline mats, springs, foam pit materials, and family entertainment center software need to be replaced? That’s where we come in. Keep reading to learn how often you’ll need to replace or upgrade some of your most necessary park items.

Foam Squares

Those bit foam cubes that cushion landings may look indestructible, but the little particles of dust they leave behind tell a different story. Each cube breaks down a little bit due to friction, but the damage also comes from how compacted they get inside the pit itself. As kids land in the foam pit, those cubes get pushed down.

That lack of air and increased friction causes them to break down faster. “Fluffing” the pit every once in a while can help maintain the cubes, and it’s easy. Just remove the foam cubes and let them air out. You should look at replacing those cubes every 1-3 years, depending on how well you’ve taken care of them.

Trampoline Mats

The mat is the part of the trampoline your customers see, so keeping them in beautiful, safe condition is crucial to maintaining customer loyalty. If your mats look ragged or have holes in them, expect customers to run for the hills.

Depending on how much wear your trampolines get, you should expect to change them every 2 years or so. This will ensure they’re bouncy and more safe.

Springs

If you’re missing springs, or they’re stretched out, that’s a telltale sign that the trampoline in question needs some help. Don’t let patrons jump until that trampoline is back in working order. Checking on your equipment regularly will help you understand how often heavy-duty supplies like springs need a refresher.
